Known as the land of religion, spirituality and knowledge, the traditions and customs of the Chandela dynasty of Giddhaur have a different history of their own. The temple of Dakshin Kali Maa, established in Mahuligarh, situated at a distance of about 1.5 km from Lord Minto Tower Chowk, the residence of Kumar Ranbir Singh, the middle nephew of Maharaja Giddaur, scattered in these history blocks, is still the center of faith and belief for the people of Giddhaur and Mahuligarh. Local people also know it as Mashan Kali.

According to the information received, this temple was established in the year 1920 by the Rajguru Tantrik Lalitanand Brahmachari of the Gidhaur royal family. मिंटो टावर, जमुई (Minto Tower) – Gidhaur, Jamui

Minto tower was erected in commemoration of Lord Minto, the then Viceroy and Governor General of India, who visited Giddhaur on 10th Feb 1906. The tower was constructed by Maharaja Rameshwar Prasad Singh ‘Bahadur’ of Giddhour.

It holds a historical importance in modern Indian history and marks the centre of Gidhaur city. Minto Tower is situated at Giddhaur block head quarter, in the middle of Gidhaur Market on the main Jamui-Jhajha state highway. which is 15 K.M East from the district head quarter, Jamui District.
