Residents here seemed unaware that an illustrious son of India — Ashok Kumar to some, Dadamoni to many — was born in Bhagalpur more than a hundred years ago.

Ashok Kumar was born at Rajbati, the house of his maternal grandfather, on October 13, 1911. He even spent his childhood in the city, later marrying Shobha Devi, daughter of Sudhirendra Nath of Kharmanchak.

All that remains of Rajbati now are broken walls and the glistening white sand of the Ganga diara. Even the house of his in-laws has disappeared. So has, it seems, his memory among residents.

There were no functions to mark his birth anniversary on Monday. “It’s a generation gap. The new generation is familiar with contemporary artistes. Born to Late Shri Baikunth Singh and Late Smt. Siya Devi in the year 1967, Mr.Kunal Singh, the Producer, Director, Writer, and the Hero of the first ever Angika Language Feature Film, “Khagariya Vali Bhouji” belongs to Bodhnagar-Titahi village of Shambhuganj Block under Banka District of Anga region (Bihar State) of India.

His early days were spent in financial scarcities. He did his Primary schooling from Rajghat Middle School, at Banka. नेहा शर्मा (Neha Sharma)

Neha Sharma (born 21 November 1987) is an Indian film actress and model. A native of Bihar, Sharma attended the Mount Carmel School in Bhagalpur and pursued a course in fashion design  from the National Institute of Fashion technology (NIFT), New Delhi.

Sharma's first role was in the Telugu film Chirutha, released in 2007. Her first Hindi film was Mohit Suri's Crook, released in 2010. Sharma made a cameo appearance in Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahaani, and was cast in a full fledged role in Ekta Kapoor's Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum

Personal life

Her hobbies are cooking, listening to music, reading and dance. Sharma is trained in Indian classical dance form called Kathak. Apart from that she has also learned street hip hop, Latin dancing-salsa, merengue, jive and jazz in London. She considers Kate Moss as her style inspiration. Sharma also aspires to launch her own clothing label.
