BAIDYANATH TEMPLE

The temple is situated in a spacious courtyard bound by stone walls. In the temple complex are twenty-two other temples. The Baijnath or Vaidyanath temple faces east. The top of the Shiva Lingam is slightly broken, keeping with the legend that it chipped away when Ravana tried to uproot it. For centuries, devotees of Lord Shiva, in the months of July – August undertake a rigorous100 km. pilgrimage on foot, from Ajgaibinath to offer holy water to Baba Baidyanath.

Near the temple, is the beautiful lake called Sivaganga.

THE CHANDRAKOOPA WELL
Located near the main entrance, this well is said to have been built and consecrated with water from several ‘tirthams’ by Ravana.

NANDAN PAHAR 
Nandan Pahar is a small hill on the edge of the town which hosts a famous Nandi Temple and faces the famous Shiv temple.Nandan Pahar is located at a distance of around 3 kmfrom Baba Baidyanath Dham station. The numerous temples on the hill have beautiful idols of Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh and Kartik. The site also has a water tank, which supplies filtered water to the entire destination. Tourists can also see beautiful views of the district, sunrise and sunset from this site. As per mythology, once Ravana tried to enter Shivadham forcibly when Nandi was the doorkeeper of Lord Shiva. Nandi stopped him from entering the premises of Lord Shiva. Ravana got furious and threw him down at this site and hence, the hill is known by his name. Apart from housing the temple, the hill also has a famous park named Nandan Hill Entertainment Park. With the availability of swimming and boating facilities, the park is one of the ideal sites for picnic and play fields. The Nandan pahar has a huge park for children, and has a ghost house, a boot house, a mirror house and a restaurant.

BASUKINATH TEMPLE (42 kms):
Basukinath Dham is on Dumka-Deoghar Road.There is an attractive Shiva Temple here. It is believed that a pilgrimage to Deoghar is complete only after offering holy water to Lord Shiva at Basukinath.

HARILA JORIA (8 kms)
It is konwn as ‘Haritika van’ where from worshipping matters were collected. There is one temple of Lord Shiva which cannot be over looked from historical point of view. It is said that genesis of this place is related with RAVAN.

SATSANGA ASHRAM

A very holy place for devotees of Shri Shri Anukul Chandra Thakur. Satsang Ashram is a holy place for devotees of Thakur Anukulchandra, in the south-west of Deoghar, established by Anukul Chandra. Thakur Anukulchandra was born on 14 September 1888. In a small village called Himaitpur in the Pabna district of the eastern zone of Bengal (the then undivided India) which is now in Bangladesh, lord came to save this world. He was born to Sri. Shibchandra Chakravarty (Shandilya Gotra, Kanyakubja Brahmin) and Manmohini Devi. Anukulchandra was extremely mother centric, from his early life. His mother remained his guru throughout his life. He was lover of the mankind.

Shri Shri Anukul Chandra Thakur Satsanga Ashram, Deoghar

Anukulchandra set up an Ashram at Pabna (later it was named Satsang). At Deoghar in India 1946 for fostering spiritual development a new Ashram had been set up by him. Eventually Satsang ashram at Deoghar became a major place of attraction in Deoghar fo all kind of people in the society.

Navlakha Temple

NAVLAKHA TEMPLE
2 kms from Deoghar, there are temples of Radha And Krishna here.This Balanand Brahamchari Ashram is a fine architectural monument for religious purposes. It is situated 1.5 k.m. away from Baba Baidyanath Temple. It is a nice visiting spot. This temple looks like the temple of Ramakrishna in Belur. Inside it there are idols of Radha – Krishna. Its height is 146 feet. The amount spent in construction of the temple was about Rupees Nine lakhs (9 lakhs). Hence it became known as Naulakha Temple. This amount was donated entirely by Rani Charushila who belonged to Pathuria Ghat King’s family, Kolkata. At the early age she lost her husband Akshay Ghosh and son Jatindra Ghosh. Grieved by the deaths, she left her home and met the saint Balananda Brahmachari who asked her to construct this temple.

TRIKUT Hills

24 kms west of Deoghar, it is famous for its Hill Temples. It is believed that many sages have attained salvation on the top of these hills, known as TrikutIt is the source of the River Mayurakshi, which is a prime attraction here.natures open beauty and esoteric religious practices are practised.

Trikut Pahar is one of the most exciting tourist destination in Deoghar, where you can enjoy Trekking, Ropeway, Wildlife Adventures and a safe natural retreat. It is also a popular picnic spot and a place for Pilgrimage. In dense forest on the uphill lies the famous Trikutachal Mahadeva Temple and the hermitage of Sage Dayananda. Trikut Hills contain three peaks and the Highest Peak goes to the height of 2470 ft from the Sea Level and around about 1500 ft from the ground making it an ideal location for trekking. Only two of the three peaks are considered safe for trekking while the third one is inaccessible due to its highly steep slopes. The Ropeway takes the Tourists to the top of main peak only. An exciting 360 degree view of Deoghar is available from the Top of Trikut Pahar.

MASSANJOR
96 kms from Deoghar, there is a picturesqe dam on the river Mayurakh. The scenic beauty of the place attracts the tourists.

Stn Rd has merged with Clock Tower, equivalent to Esplanade of Calcutta. Around it has come the market place or the old city

RAM KRISHNA MISSION
Ram Kriahna Mission Vidyapeth, established in 1922, is a great centre of education and sadhana.

HINDI VIDYAPEETH
In 1928 ‘Hindi Vidyapeth’ , was established, a famous centre of Hindi.

MAA SHITALA TEMPLE

Maa Shitala Templeis one of the beautiful shrines, which is located in the main market near Tower Chowk. visitor from near by places come here and sit for hours in its holy premises. Here you can feel positive vibrations and you feel relax.

Numerous Buddhist ruins are also located nearby.

HOW TO GET THERE 

The railway station at Deoghar is called Baidyanath Dham. Deogarh stands on an all-weather road connecting Calcutta with Delhi. Passenger buses run regularly from Bhagalpur, Dumka., Patna, Gaya, Monghyr, and other places in Bihar to Deogarh. Taxis and tangas are available at Deoghar. Tangas are available at Jaisidih railway station but not taxis.

The nearest Railway Station is Baidyanath Dham (Deoghar) which is a terminal station of a 7 kms branch line orignating from Jasidih Jn. on Hawrah-Patna rail line of Eastern Railway

By road Baidyanath Dham (Deoghar) to Calcutta 373 kms, Giridih 112 kms, Patna 281 kms, Dumka 67 kms, Madhupur 57 kms, Shimultala 53 kms, Bhagalpur 80 kms.etc.

Long distance buses connect Baidyanath Dham with Bhagalpur, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Tatanagar, Gaya etc.
