PATNA: The struggle for government recognition of Angika language spoken in eastern districts of Bihar and related demands has now taken a crucial turn, as its supporters have taken to 'aamaran anshan (fast-unto-death)' on Hardinge Road hear R-Block here to pursue their demands, and make themselves heard by the concerned in the Nitish Kumar government.
Of the students sitting on fast, one Adarsh Suman (11) fell ill on Wednesday, and has been rushed to a doctor for treatment, said AUAS central general secretary Jayant Jalad. According to Gautam, as many as 65 people have arrived here from districts concerned to show their solidarity and be also a part of the struggle.

अंग लिपि (Anga Script)
Anga Lipi (अंगलिपि) is a historical writing system or script of the Anga region of India.
Anga referred to a region in what is now Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal states of India, and Lipi meant script. Anga Script is mentioned in an ancient Sanskrit language Buddhist book “Lalitvistar” (ललितविस्तर), which says Anga Lipi was one of the most important scripts among 64 other scripts of that time. The script was specific to the Anga region, or Anga Mahajanapada, and was among those known to Buddha.The script was mentioned as the fourth most important script of Ancient India, and was used to write Anga Desh-Apbhramsa or Aangi, now Angika, around 600 BC. Some of the sixty four scripts mentioned in “Lalitvistar” were mythical, but some, including Dravid, Anga and Banga, were real.

खगड़िया वाली भौजी – Khagaria Vali Bhouji – Angika Movie
It is not the State or Central government body or any Millionaire or Billionaire but a youngster in his thirties belonging to lower income class family of Bihar, Mr. Kunal Baikunth Singh, who has led up to produce the first Feature Film of Angika language. Ironically, Mr. Kunal is very much optimistic for the releasing of the film even in the adverse condition of the availability of the adequate fund. The shooting of the film was started in the mid of the year 2006.
Few of the scenes of the film were shot in Bhagalpur, the historical city of Anga Desh. Crores of Angika Speaking people of Anga are now eagerly waiting for the release of this low budget film, which is named as “Khagaria Vali Bhouji”. In the mean time Audio Cassette of the film songs has been released and is available in the market for the sale. Moreover, the shooting of all the10 songs of the film has been also over.
