Digambar Jain Mandir is one of the most popular and religious tourist attractions in the city of Bhagalpur. Located at Nathnagar. It is a place of great religious significance for the Jain Community.

Digambar Jain Mandir is also referred to as Shri Champapur Digamber Jain Siddha Kshetra Bada Mandir. Champapur is an ancient and historic Teerht Kshetra for the Jain community. It is the only place in the world where all five of the Kalyanka of Teerthankar Vasupoojya Swami the first Ascetic Saint, are situated. The five Kalyankas of Champapur are namely Garbha, Janma, Tapa, Gyan and Moksha. The Digambar Jain Mandir is renowned for its relation to the three Chaturmasa periods of Bhagwan Mahaveer Swami during his Dikshakal and Religious propagation centre of Anga-Banga-Magadh-Vaishali. It is also associated with the Test of modesty of Sati Subhadra and Anantmati and Aahardan to Bhagwan Mahaveer Swami by Sati Chandan Bala. The main temple of Digambar Jain Mandir is about 2500 years old. It consists of five alters, a magnificent spire and two columns of fame. A miraculous and beautiful idol of Bhagwan Vasupoojya Swami is situated in the centre of the main altar of the Temple. Another idol of Bhagwan Vasupoojya Swami made up of an alloy comprising eight different metals are present in the main altar, along with the ancient image of Bhagwan Vasupoojya.

The entrance gate of the temple is gigantic and is made in the same style as the infamous Hawa-Mahal of Jaipur. There are blossomed fruit trees all around the temple. How To Reach

It is situated at a distance of 6 kms from Bhagalpur, Bihar and can be reached in just 20 mins via Bhagalpur Alternative Bypass Road by a personal vehicle.

Best Time To Visit

Timing: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM on all days of the week.

The entry to the temple is free of any charge. Best time to visit the temple is early in the morning to experience the peace of the temple in utmost silence.

People ideally spend 1 – 2 hours in the temple marveling over its structure and taking part in the temple rituals.
