Located in the Kasba area of Purnia district the famous local temple namely Rani Saati Mandir is situated at a distance of about 12 km from Purnia district headquarters, and is famous in entire Bihar, Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Nepal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan including Purnia and it welcomes visitors from various other parts of the region during festival time.
This temple is about 60 years old and believed to be graced by Maa Sati. The construction of this temple was completed on 14 November 1968 with Murti Pran Pratishtha. The first temple of Rani Sati was established 400 years ago in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Maa sati Mahotsav is celebrated every year and many Purohits and Pandits come from different part of country for Puja Archana.
Later on, a residential school was established in this temple complex in 1978, which has prepared many intellectuals from the entire area including Kasba who are currently working in the country and abroad. But at present this school is closed for many years.
People come here from far and wide to offer prayers, especially newly married couples come to seek the blessings of the mother after marriage. It is the main tourist place of Marwari society.
It’s foundation stone was laid on 15 September 1966 by Bhakta Shree Narayan Prasad Jhunjhunwala Barakar, resident of Burdwan West Bengal. Who used to spread the propaganda of Shri Rani Sati Dadiji in Katihar. Once when Shri Narayan Prasad came to the Kasba and offered prayers in the temple of Lord Satyanarayana, about 100 years old, located in the same temple premises. Then he received an order in a dream by Shri Dadiji himself to establish a temple here, which he told to Shri Lath, as a result this temple was established.
