Manaskamna Nath Mandir is an old temple located at Nathnagar area of Bhagalpur, Bihar. This is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Daily Aarti is organized two times. Once morning and once evening. Aarti is very beautiful and attractive. Idols of many god and goddess are present here. A big fair is organized here during Durga Puja.

There is a temple of Goddess Mata Parvati in front of Shankar, Lord Shiva. It is said that in the Dwapar era, great warrior Daanvir Karna used to take bath in the Ganges and worship every day in this Shiva temple. After worshiping, used to donate the Gold.

Manasakamana Nath Temple is the center of religion and spirituality for the people of not only Nathnagar but the entire region. Both Asin and Chaiti Durga Puja is held here. This famous temple of Shiva is visited by lakhs of people during Shiva Ratri and Sawan month. The marriage ceremony of the lagna is also organized.

History

It is believed that the first Nag dynasty had established Shivling in this temple. Due to the Nag dynasty, this area is known as Nathnagar. After the Naga dynasty, the Pala dynasty also contributed in beautifying this temple. He also established Shivling here. Even today both Shivlings are worshiped in the temple. A few years ago, during the renovation here, a rock plate was found on which the year 1754 was inscribed. In this sense, experts say that this temple must have been built in the seventh-eighth century.

Specialty

The Shivling established here is believed to fulfill the wishes. Devotees from far and wide come here and make their complaints to Baba. Baba also listens to all the devotees and fulfills their wishes. Devotees from many states including Bhagalpur, West Bengal, Jharkhand reach here to see Baba. Especially people of the area come here to take blessings of Baba Bhole and Maa Parvati before starting auspicious work. Religious events take place here throughout the year.

Architecture

The dilapidated temple was once again rebuilt by the local people. But the sanctum sanctorum was left in its old form. Seeing the temple, the establishment art of Pala and Nag dynasty is realized. Today tiles and marvel have been installed all around here. Which seems to be a confluence of modern and mythological installation art.

How to reach

Being close to NH, it is quite easy to reach here. The temple can be reached on foot from the railway station via Nathnagar Chowk, Manasakamana Nath Chowk. If you want to come here by road, then you can also come by auto.

Best Time to visit:

During Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Maha Shivratri and month of shravan.
