Arsenic alarm in ground water in villages of Bhagalpur

- By Dr. Ashok Ghosh, in Bhagalpur Thousands of people living in over hundreds of villages in different districts of Bihar including Bhagalpur and Sahebganj district of Jharkhand are facing serious threat to their health due to alarmingly high quantity of arsenic present in the underground water. Bihar is facing one of the gravest natural disasters in the form of arsenic contamination of ground water. In the first detailed study of ground water quality, the Department of Environment and Water Management, AN College, Patna, has already submitted Interim Reports to PHED and UNICEF about the alarming findings on arsenic poisoning cases in the districts of Patna, Bhojpur, Vaishali and Bhagalpur. The study was conducted from April 2004 to May 2006, the study area being confined to 10 kms, wide belt along the Ganga river as per the instructions of PHED and UNICEF. अंगिका साहित्य (Angika Literature – An Overview)

केवल लिखित साहित्य को ही आधार मानें तो अंगिका भाषा में साहित्य निर्माण की समृध्द परम्परा प्राचीन काल से ही सतत रूप से जारी है, जो प्रामाणिक रूप से पिछले तेरह सौ वर्षों के कालखंडों में बिखरा पड़ा है. महापंडित राहुल सांकृत्यायन के अनुसार हिन्दी भाषा के लिखित साहित्य का प्राचीनतम स्वरूप ‘अंग’ के प्राचीन सिध्द कवि ‘सरह’ की आठवी सदी में लिखी अंगिका-अपभ्रंश भाषा की रचनाओं में उपलब्ध है. अगर वैदिक संस्कृत में सृजित साहित्य के प्रारंभिक वर्षों को भारतीय भाषाओं में साहित्य लेखन की शुरूआत मानी जाय तो ‘अंगिका’ भाषा में साहित्य निर्माण का कार्य आज से चार हजार वर्ष पूर्व शुरू हो चुका था. अंगिका में लिखित एवं अलिखित दोनों ही तरह के साहित्य प्रचुर मात्रा में उपलब्ध हैं. आज की स्थिति यह है कि अंगिका भाषा का अपना वेब पोर्टल अंगिका.कॉम बर्ष 2003 से अस्तित्व में हैं. साथ ही अंगिका भाषा में गुगल.क़ॉम जैसा विश्व के अव्वल दर्जे का सर्च इंजन भी बर्ष 2004 से उपलब्ध है. किसी भी विकसित भाषा की उत्कृष्टता का पैमाना बन चुके इन सुविधाओं से लैस होकर इंटरनेट क्रांति के इस युग में अंगिका भारत ही नहीं विशव की…

अंग लिपि (Anga Script)

Anga Lipi (अंगलिपि) is a historical writing system or script of the Anga region of India. Anga referred to a region in what is now Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal states of India, and Lipi meant script. Anga Script is mentioned in an ancient Sanskrit language Buddhist book “Lalitvistar” (ललितविस्तर), which says Anga Lipi was one of the most important scripts among 64 other scripts of that time. The script was specific to the Anga region, or Anga Mahajanapada, and was among those known to Buddha.The script was mentioned as the fourth most important script of Ancient India, and was used to write Anga Desh-Apbhramsa or Aangi, now Angika, around 600 BC. कुणाल बैकुंठ सिंह (Kunal Baikunth Singh)

Born to Late Shri Baikunth Singh and Late Smt. Siya Devi in the year 1967, Mr.Kunal Singh, the Producer, Director, Writer, and the Hero of the first ever Angika Language Feature Film, “Khagariya Vali Bhouji” belongs to Bodhnagar-Titahi village of Shambhuganj Block under Banka District of Anga region (Bihar State) of India.

His early days were spent in financial scarcities. He did his Primary schooling from Rajghat Middle School, at Banka. After completion of 10 th Board exam from Madita Vidyarthi High School, he moved to Evening College (Now B.N.College) for his Intermediate.
