Basukinath is the Second most famous Temple in and around Deoghar. It is located in Dumka district of Jharkhand, on the Deoghar – Dumka state highway and is around 25 km north-west of Dumka.

It is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus. Basukinath Temple is the main attraction here and it serves as a place of pilgrimage for Hindus. It is said that Basukinath temple is the court of Baba Bhole Nath. In Basukinath Dham, Shiva and Parvati temple are just in-front of each other.

रामकृष्ण मिशन विद्यापीठ, देवघर (Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth) – Deoghar

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar is a residential boys' senior secondary school in Deoghar, Jharkhand, India, established in 1922. It is the oldest institute of Ramakrishna Mission, and used to be visited by brother disciples of Swami Vivekananda.

LocationRamakrishna Mission Vidyapith is located in the heart of Deoghar, Jharkhand, being the holy abode of Shiva, it is one of the most significant places of pilgrimage in the country. It is an ancient city, which harbours in its bosom a body part of Sati the Divine Mother.

The school is 30 minutes drive from the Jasidih railway junction.

Trikut Pahar (Trikut Hill) is situated on the way to Dumka at Trikut Basdiha in Mohanpur Block of Deoghar District in Jharkhand state, India. 24 kms west of Deoghar, it is famous for its Hill Temples. It is believed that many sages have attained salvation on the top of these hills, known as TrikutIt is the source of the River Mayurakshi, which is a prime attraction here. Natures open beauty and esoteric religious practices are practiced.

Trikut Pahar is one of the most exciting tourist destination in Deoghar, where you can enjoy Trekking, Ropeway, Wildlife Adventures and a safe natural retreat. It is also a popular picnic spot and a place for Pilgrimage. In dense forest on the uphill lies the famous Trikutachal Mahadeva Temple and the hermitage of Sage Dayananda.

Introduction & History

Kuppa Ghat (Hindi: कुप्पाघाट) which signifies " A large number of Tunnels " is a place located on the banks of the holy river Ganges at Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. According to legends and mythology the great maharshi spent nearly ten years in the caves.

Residents here seemed unaware that an illustrious son of India — Ashok Kumar to some, Dadamoni to many — was born in Bhagalpur more than a hundred years ago.

Ashok Kumar was born at Rajbati, the house of his maternal grandfather, on October 13, 1911. He even spent his childhood in the city, later marrying Shobha Devi, daughter of Sudhirendra Nath of Kharmanchak.

All that remains of Rajbati now are broken walls and the glistening white sand of the Ganga diara. Even the house of his in-laws has disappeared. So has, it seems, his memory among residents.

There were no functions to mark his birth anniversary on Monday. “It’s a generation gap. The new generation is familiar with contemporary artistes. विक्रमशिला संग्रहालय, भागलपुर (Vikramshila Archaeological Museum) – Bhagalpur

The museum is located at Antichak . It is established in year 2004 to display the antiquities recovered in course of excavation at the site. The museum building forms a cruciform on plan. A scaled model of the excavated site of Vikramshila is on display at the first floor of the building.

अजगैबीनाथ मंदिर, सुलतानगंज (Ajgaivinath Temple) – Sultanganj

The origin of Ajgaivinath temple at Jahangira or Sultanganj is not exactly known. Some claim it to be a Swayambhu, on the rock, discovered and then given an abode. That this is a very ancient place of worship there can be no doubt. The temple is solidly built on the rock and has got a series of marvelous rock sculpture and some inscriptions. Some of the specimens of the rock panel sculpture at this temple can hold their own against any of the best known specimens anywhere in India.

जहांगीरा, सुलतानगंज (Jahangira) – Sultanganj

During the course of exploration done by The department of Ancient Indian History and Archaeology, Patna University in year 1968-69, observed traces of a ancient mound about 8 km to the west of Sultanganj on the Sultanganj- Bhagalpur road. The ancient mound here is being eroded by the river Ganga.

मुरली पहाड़ एवं मस्ज़िद, सुलतानगंज (Murli Pahad & Masjid) – Sultanganj

This is another site at Sultanganj. A mosque called Jami Masjid, is situated at the top of the hill, with the platform supported by a retaining wall facing the river.

तिलकामांझी की मूर्ति एवं पेड़, भागलपुर (Tilka Manjhi Statue & Tree) – Bhagalpur

Baba Tilka Manjhi is a national hero. Tilka Manjhi also popularly known as “Jabra Paharia”. He was first Santal leader who took up the arms and raised his voice against English fought with them in the 1784’s, around 100 years before Mangal Pandey. So no doubt he was first freedom fighter of India. He made this movement a mass movement and circulated message written on leaf of Sal that “We must be united.”

मुजाहिदपुर मस्जिद, भागलपुर (Masjid of Mujahidpur) (year 1511-15) – Bhagalpur

The tomb of Pir Shahjangi, recorded in authentic books like Francis Buchanan's Gazetteer and M Francis' Eastern India, is a valuable heritage not only for Bhagalpur but also for the people of East Bihar.

भीखनपुर मस्जिद, भागलपुर (Bhikanpur Mosque) – Bhagalpur

It is the 15th century Bhikanpur mosque is sparkling white and are considered to be very famous in Bihar.

Bhikanpur Mosque, is one of the city's oldest and most revered Islamic religious sites. Built during the Mughal period, the mosque showcases traditional Mughal architectural style, with intricate designs and elegant domes. It has served as a center for the local Muslim community, offering a space for prayer, religious gatherings, and cultural activities.

मखदूम दरिया दरगाह, भागलपुर (Dargah of Makhdum Shah)(Year 1615) – Bhagalpur

This is a very famous dargah in Bhagalpur. This dargah is situated i Barari area of Bhagalpur on the bank of river Ganga.

From back side of the dargah Ganga river and Ganga bridge can be seen.

मौलाना चक मस्जिद, भागलपुर (Moulana Chak Mosque) – Bhagalpur

It is built during the reign of Mughal emperor Jahangir and farrukhsiyar is famous pilgrimage for muslims because the sacred remains of Prophet Mohammed Shah is preserved here.

खानगाह-ए-शाहबाज़िआ, भागलपुर (Khanqah-i-Shahbazia, Mullachak) – Bhagalpur

It is situated adjoining the Bhagalpur Railway Station. Khanqah-i-Shahbazia was a highly reputed institution with a rich library and a rallying centre for scholars and men of learning. One of the five jurists invited by Aurangzeb for the compilation of his famous Fatwa-i-Alamgiri was Mir Muhammad Raadhi from Bhagalpur. In 1669 he received a daily allowance of three rupees and was later raised to the rank of an Amir.

हज़रत शाहबाज़ दरगाह, भागलपुर (Dargah of Hazrat Shahbaz)(year 1502) – Bhagalpur

शाह शुजा की कब्र, भागलपुर (Tomb of Shah Shuja) – Bhagalpur

Tomb of Shuja, brother of Moghul emperor Aurangzeb is situated in the heart of the town. It is reminiscent of the city’s association with the Mughal period.

घंटा घर, भागलपुर (Ghanta Ghar, Deep Narayan Singh Smarak) – Bhagalpur

Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) is located in the heart of Bhagalpur. It is 25ft high Clock Tower made in British Time. Around it there is market place of the old city.

The historic Ghanta Ghar Clock Tower was built during the British Rule in dedication to the King Edward VII of Britain. Situated in the heart of Bhagalpur, it is like the centre of the city and all of Bhagalpur is easily accessible from this site. It is situated in the centre of a chowk, often referred to as Clock Tower Chowk because of the monument, which is one of the busiest roads in the city.
