मनपत्थर, मुंगेर (Manpathar – Sita Charan – Munger

Manpathar is one of the renowned rocks which is close to Kastaharni Ghat in Munger district. Manpathar is popularly known as Sita Charan. On this rock one can find the impression of two feet believed to be the foot prints of Sita who had touched the rock while crossing Ganga. The rock is 250 m in length and 30 m in width. चंडी स्थान, मुंगेर (Chandi Asthan / Chandika Sthan Shakti Peeth – Munger

Chandisthana is one of the famous Hindu temples of Munger. It is known as popular Sakti Peetha. 51 major Shakti peethas are situated in all over in India, Chandisthana is one of them. The temple is dedicated to the Mata Chandi. Chandi is another name of Durga Mata. The temple was built on this site too based on the left eye of Devi Sati’s fell in. कष्टहरणी घाट, मुंगेर (Kashtaharni Ghat) – Munger

Kashtaharni Ghat is a holy place of Munger district. It is said that once upon a time Lord Ram and Mata Sita bathed at this site while returning to Ajodhya from Mithila, after that this place becomes a holy place. This place is also famous as pilgrim centre for Hindu religion. The word Kastaharni meaning the bathing place which expels all pain. Manpathar is a very popular place, which situated near the Ghat.

श्री कृष्णा वाटिका, मुंगेर (Shri Krishna Vatika) – Munger

Shri Krishna Vatika is famous for its charming nature. It is situated near the Kashtaharni Ghat. The sight seen of this place attracts many visitors. Mainly local people come here every day to spend their time with their family. It is one of the best relaxing places in this district. It derived its name from Dr Shri Krishna Singh, who was the first chief minister of Bihar. This beautiful place surrounded by a wonderful garden. The grave of Gul and Bahara is present inside the garden. There are two tunnels in the Krishna Vatika and efforts have been made in the past to pass through the tunnels but in vain as it proved to be life threatening.

मुल्ला मोहम्मद सईद की कब्र, मुंगेर (Mullah Mohammad Sayyid Grave) – Dilawarpur – Munger

This is situated on the top of the bastion at the southwest of the fort. The Mulla was a Persian poet and had come to India from Mazandaran near the Caspian Sea, during the reign of the Emperor Aurangzeb, who employed him as a tutor to his daughter Zebunnisa Begum. He was a poet of repute and enjoyed the favours of Prince Azim-us-shan, Aurangzeb’s grandson.

शाह सुज़ा महल, मुंगेर (Palace of Shah Suja) – Munger

The Munger fort building occupies as one of the finest sites inside the fort and has now been converted into a Jail. Though locally known as the palace of the Mughal Prince Shuja. It is inferred to have been built earlier by Nawab Mir Qasim Ali, who also ruled from Munger.

पीर शाह नफाह दरगाह, मुंगेर (Pir Shah Nafah Shrine) – Munger

In the present fort area the oldest building inside the fort is a sacred Muhammadan shrine. It is said that it was a mazar of a Pir or Saint whose name is still unknown. He is said to have traveled from Persia to Ajmer and from there came down to Munger under the instructions from Khwaza Moin-Uddin Chisti- the famous Sufi Saint and Lived at Munger for many years and also died here in 596 A.H, corresponding to 1177 A.D. He was buried in an obscure place near the ramparts and with the lapse of years exact burial place was forgotten. Ultimately, in 1497 A.D. when the ramparts of the fort being repaired by the Governor, Prince Danyal, who ordered a mosque to be built over that place.So since 1497 the particular place has been known as the Dargah of Shah Nafah.

The foundation-stone of the building was laid on the 21st December, 1947 by Shri Jairam Das Daulat Ram, the then Governor of Bihar. The institution

has also published a book “Sri Krishna Abhinandan Granth” which was presented to the Chief Minister, Dr. S.K.Sinha by Shri Purushottam Das Tandan in 1949. A big collection of books was donated by Shri Raghubar Narain Singh in the year 1949. The building was completed in 1953.

Mir Kasim Cave, located in Munger, Bihar, is a historically significant site linked to Mir Kasim, the Nawab of Bengal during the mid-18th century. The cave is believed to have served as a hideout for Mir Kasim during his conflict with the British East India Company after he was dethroned.

मुंगेर का किला (Munger Fort) – Munger

The Munger Fort, located at Munger (also spelt as Monghyr during the British Raj), in the state of Bihar, India, is built on a rocky hillock on the south bank of the Ganges River. Its history is not completely dated but it is believed that it was built during the early rule of Slave dynasty of India. The Munger town where the fort is situated was under the control of Muhammad bin Tughluq of Delhi (1325-1351 CE).

दशरथपुर झरना एवं झील | धरहरा झील, मुंगेर (Dashrathpur Waterfall & Lake) – Munger

प्रकृति की गोद में बसे जमालपुर काली पहाड़ी से सटे धरहरा प्रखंड का बरमसिया झरना आकर्षण का केंद्र है। जमालपुर, मुंगेर, धरहरा सहित आसपास के दर्जनों गांव के लोग रोजाना यहां आकर झरने में स्नान करने का लुफ्त उठाते हैं। झरने में रोजाना स्नान करने के बाद लोग झरने के जल को घर ले जाते हैं। ग्रामीणों ने कहा कि पहाड़ से निकलने वाला मीठा जल पेट से संबंधित बीमारियां दूर करने में सहायक है। खाना बेहतर तरीके से पच जाता है। झरने के पानी से आसपास के खेतों में सिचाई भी होती है।

रामेश्वर कुण्ड, मुंगेर (Rameshwar Kund) – Munger

The legend goes that during the Muslim invasion one of the Generals camped at this site and dug the earth for water and accidentally a hot water sprig came out.

Haveli Kharagpur is a town and One of the three subdivision in Munger district in the indian state of Bihar. Historically it was the centre of the medieval Kharagpur Raj chieftaincy.

GeographyHaveli Kharagpur is located at 25.12°N 86.55°E. It has an average elevation of 48 metres (157 feet). It is well connected from all three directions (the fourth i.e., the west side has the forest) only 20 kilometers from Bariarpur railway station in the north, 30 kilometers from Jamui railway station in the south and 14 kilometers from Tarapur in the east direction. It is close to Jamalpur Hills, its elevation is little higher than Munger, so it never suffers from flood. It is surrounded by small hills which gives the views to this city.

सीता कुण्ड, मुंगेर (Sita Kund) – Kalyan Chak – Munger

The one Place, which puts Munger on the one of the most visited place, is known as “Sita-Kund”. This place has always been the one, which creates a lot of inquisitiveness among the visitors, as well as it gives a lot of pleasure too. The place is situated 4 miles east of the Munger town. It contains hot springs known as Sita Kund, besides this there is a Hindu temple and to the north is a reservoir of cold water, known as Ramkund, while to the west there were three more polls called after the three brothers of Ram, namely Lakshman Kund, Bharat Kund, and Satrughan Kund.

Shahkund is a Town in Shahkund Block in Bhagalpur District of Bihar State, India. It belongs to Bhagalpur Division . It is located 28 KM towards west from District head quarters Bhagalpur. It is a Block head quarter.

जमुई (Jamui)

Jamui is a town and a municipality in Jamui district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is the district headquarter of Jamui district. Jamui was formed as a district on 21 February 1991 as a result of its separation from Munger. It is part of Munger Division.The town is situated about 60km South-West of Munger.

Historical existence of Jamui has been observed from the period of Mahabharta war. Archaeological and historical evidence shows its close association with the Jain tradition for a long past to the present time. A large part of this area is covered by forest.

जैन मंदिर, लछुआर, जमुई (Jain Temple, Lachhuar) – Jamui

This Jain temple is the gateway to the place believed to be the birthplace of Lord Mahavira. This temple is part of Jain circuit of Bihar and is a popular Jain pilgrimage. Many in Jainism believes and claims that , this place kshatriyakund, not Vaishali, is the birthplace of Lord Mahavir, the tithankar of Jains. The temple is in the Lachhuar near Sikandra in the Jamui District of Bihar.

The birthplace is about 15 km from this place.
